Bad Kleinkirchheim ski resort: winter fun for everyone

Located at 1,087 metres in the Carinthian Nockberge Mountains, Bad Kleinkirchheim is one of the most attractive ski resorts in the Austrian Alps. The varied slopes, with a total length of 103 kilometres, offer skiing fun for young and old alike. At our Hotel GUT Trattlerhof, we offer you first-class cuisine, relaxation and an extensive range of family activities before and after your winter sports.

The most important information about the Bad Kleinkirchheim ski resort at a glance

The ski season in Bad Kleinkirchheim starts on 5 December 2025 and ends on 6 April 2026. During this period, you can expect freshly groomed slopes, varied runs and numerous advantages every day.

The slopes in Bad Kleinkirchheim make up the largest ski area within the Carinthian Nockberge mountains. The wide range of options covers a total of 103 kilometres of slopes and offers opportunities for beginners, advanced skiers and professionals.

 

The majority of the 84 kilometres are red slopes, but there are also 11 kilometres of blue and 8 kilometres of black runs to ensure plenty of fun on the slopes. If you want to follow in Franz Klammer's footsteps, you can try your hand at the 3,150-metre-long race track named after him.

A total of 24 lifts and cable cars ensure that you can safely reach the slopes and return to the valley. These are divided into four gondola lifts, eight chair lifts and twelve T-bar lifts, which are open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a small change from the beginning of March 2026: the facilities will then open half an hour earlier, at 8.30 a.m.

Ski schools in Bad Kleinkirchheim

Bad Kleinkirchheim currently offers its guests four ski schools. In addition to ski courses for children and adults, private lessons and snowboard courses are also available. The ski kindergarten awaits young ski learners, where the sport is taught through play and fun.

Hut and après-ski fun

Skiing in Bad Kleinkirchheim and stopping off at a rustic hut go hand in hand. There are 22 cosy places to stop for refreshments scattered throughout the ski area. Depending on your preference, you can enjoy typical hut dishes such as goulash soup, cheese spaetzle or, for those who like something more exclusive, a Carinthian Lâxnfilet. Top tips include Trattlers Einkehr at the end of the "Maibrunnabfahrt" run or the "Maibrunnhütte" at the mountain station, located at 1,800 metres.


Those who still have some energy left after skiing will get their money's worth at the après-ski party. Après-ski enthusiasts can party every day in one of the huts. Trattler's Einkehr is also recommended here. An open fire and the elegant hut lounge with outdoor bar create a sophisticated atmosphere.

Leisure fun in addition to fun on the slopes

Would you like to experience something else besides skiing? Bad Kleinkirchheim offers numerous possibilities.

The Kaiserburg Bob, Carinthia's most modern roller bobsleigh track, which is open all year round, is particularly popular. Over a length of 1.4 kilometres, with numerous curves, the 36 double bobsleighs guarantee lots of fun. Children aged four and above are permitted to use the track.

The Bad Kleinkirchheim Snow Park is located at an altitude of almost 2,000 metres above sea level. Suitable for beginners to advanced snowboarders, the park offers easy and challenging obstacles to overcome.
