Your Forstnig family

Trattlerhof's history is in the air

We take you on a short journey back in time to the special year 1642 - to be precise, to 14 July 1642. On this seemingly ordinary Monday it began, the exciting history of the hotel in Bad Kleinkirchheim known today as GUT Trattlerhof****. In the more than 370 years of its existence, much has changed at the Trattlerhof. But what has remained the same at the GUTshof to this day: the attachment to tradition, the love for the guest and the open-heartedness of the hosts.

"Times may change, but our love for our guests remains. Then as now. Since 1642."

Once upon a time, there was a small inn, which was first served by its owners more than 370 years ago. That's how small and inconspicuous it began, the spectacular development of today's GUTshof in Bad Kleinkirchheim.

"You are born to be a host. In our case, for five generations."

Five generations, one passion

The GUTshof has been owned by the Forstnig family since 1884. Over the past 137 years, the Trattlerhof has constantly evolved. With all the innovations, advances and modernisations, however, the following things have never changed: the devoted hospitality & passion for the business and the first name of the owner. Then as now, it was a certain Mr. Jakob Forstnig who ran and still runs the Trattlerhof with dedication.

"We share not only our first names over generations. Even the tools are sometimes the same."

A different kind of family addition

From a small restaurant to a traditional 4-star hotel - the Trattlerhof has really experienced a lot. It was the old forefathers who put the craft and the passion for constant development into the hands of today's Trattlerhof generation. Deeply rooted in history, but nevertheless, with a broad and all-embracing view of the future, the Forstnig family is constantly moving their Trattlerhof forward. In order to be able to preserve the GUTshof for countless more centuries and Forstnig generations, the Hotel GUT Trattlerhof**** has been Co2 neutral since 2014.

"Only those who think about tomorrow today can help decide what the
future will look like on our planet.

137 years & five generations: Trattlerhof's family tree

2017 - An absolute "milestone" in the history of the GUTshof and since December 2017 called "Hotel GUT Trattlerhof**** & Chalets" was the construction of the 7,0000 m² Chalet Village with 14 luxurious and high-quality chalets with their own SPA area. In the middle of nature and yet central

2018 - In 2018, the Hotel GUT Trattlerhof**** did not shy away from improvements and expansions. The wellness area has been transformed into the "Forest Wellness Oasis" with the expansion of the panorama sauna, adventure showers and the stone pine relaxation area. In addition, 15 new Gutshof and Sonnenschein rooms are being built, which offer guests their own panorama sauna on the terrace with a view of nature.

2020 - Even in difficult times, the GUTshof does not bury its head in the sand. The Trattlerhof used the "forced break" from mid-March to the end of May 2020 for renovations, refreshments, conversion work and much more.

2022 - In 2022, many new challenges await the Trattlers Hofleute and the Forstnig family. This much can already be revealed: "Sprucing up is the order of the day again. Every day anew. In the house, around the house, for our guests".

The "Per Du" has become the "Per Sie". Closeness and appreciation have remained.
