Trattlerhof goes green
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges for the human race. It causes harm to ecosystems and affects the very foundations of life.

Helena Klaes, a long-standing regular guest at the Trattlerhof, is conducting an anonymous survey on the topic of sustainable holidays as part of her final school project. As a sustainably oriented hotel, we are very happy to support this project and warmly invite you to share your impressions with her.
The survey only takes a few minutes – thank you very much for your support!

Regional Flavours & Conscious Cuisine
We are committed to treating nature with care. As a certified “Genuss-Wirt”, we focus on using locally sourced products. We serve seasonal food and beverages from the region, complemented by selected organically grown products. This allows you to enjoy fresh quality, short transport routes and authentic flavours from Carinthia.
100% Renewable Energy
We use energy and water efficiently and prioritise renewable energy sources. With our own hydroelectric power plant, we are well on our way to becoming self-sufficient in electricity – powered by 100% hydropower. Since May 2014, our entire property has used renewable bioheat. In this way, the Trattlerhof consistently embraces renewable energy.
Using Energy, Water & Resources Responsibly
We pay close attention to the efficient use of energy and water. By consciously purchasing regional products, carefully separating and recycling waste, and using cleaning and laundry products sparingly, we help conserve valuable resources. Our cleaning products are biodegradable and contribute to protecting our waterways.
Acting Sustainably Together
Our employees regularly attend training sessions and actively contribute to our environmental programme. You can participate too: if you choose to skip daily room cleaning, you will receive an environmental bonus of €3 per day, credited to your room bill.
E-Mobility – Sustainable and Comfortable Travel
Sustainable mobility is an integral part of the experience at Hotel GUT Trattlerhof. You can conveniently charge your electric car at our modern charging stations located directly at the hotel.
Alternatively, explore the region in our hotel-owned Tesla Model Y, available for excursions upon request. It is a wonderful way to combine driving pleasure and comfort with a responsible approach to our natural surroundings.
At the Trattlerhof, this creates a holiday experience that naturally combines enjoyment, comfort and sustainability.
Thanks to our on-site hydroelectric power plant, we generate more renewable energy at the Trattlerhof than we consume. We can offset this surplus against our already low carbon footprint, thereby saving additional CO₂ equivalents.
The surplus energy we produce is substantial enough to also account for our guests’ journeys to and from the hotel—an aspect that often represents a large proportion of a holiday’s CO₂ emissions.
This makes your stay at the Trattlerhof in Bad Kleinkirchheim especially resource-efficient: with 100% hydroelectric power, sustainable energy and peace of mind from arrival to departure.
For those who like to explore the beauty of the surrounding biosphere park of the Carinthian Nockberge mountains on two or four wheels and at the same time do something GOOD for the environment, we offer many possibilities at the Hotel GUT Trattlerhof**** & Chalets. A total of eight e-mountain bikes or a Tesla Y are available for fast-paced rides.
A significant component of the "Trattlerhof goes green" concept is the expansion of e-mobility. So when you are on holiday in Bad Kleinkirchheim you can either borrow the hotel's own e-car or have your own e-car conveniently charged.
